The “Randy School,” San José la Monteñita, Alegria, El Salvador
The cycle of poverty cannot be broken with improved medical care alone. Educating the next generation of leaders is imperative.
It was with this in mind that our sister foundation, The David & Gisela King Foundation, partnered with La Geo (a local energy company) to create a regional high school in a rural community that lacked such an institution.
Today, the Instituto Randy Lowsky King — named after a beloved member of the King Family — provides an education to the children of Alegria, a small rural community in the mountains east of San Salvador.
Together with La Geo, Medical Mission International also awards scholarships for advanced studies to the top graduates of this high school.
